Emma spoke at the Vaisakhi festival in West Park (Sunday 10 May). The festival attracted thousands of people from Wolverhampton and beyond. There was traditional Punjabi music and martial arts demonstrations.

Emma said: "I have attended the West Park Vaisakhi celebrations in previous years. I was very grateful to be invited to speak on the stage this year in my new role."

"As ever, the festival was a roaring success, attracting thousands of people and providing fun for all the family."

"Vaisakhi is a celebration of the foundation of the Khalsa and also marks the Sikh New Year."

"In the same wonderful spirit of openness found in Sikh temples, everyone was welcomed to the festival regardless of their religion or belief and free food and drinks were served."
