Eddie Izzard and Trevor Beattie kindly donated to Normandy Veterans

Stand-up comedian and actor, Eddie Izzard and Birmingham-born advertising executive, Trevor Beattie attended the Normandy Veterans Association’s last memorial service in London on Sunday.

Izzard and Beattie both gave generous donations to the Normandy Veterans to help them to travel to Normandy earlier this month for the 65th anniversary event.

Emma attended the memorial service with her Granddad, Ken Reynolds, who is a Normandy Veteran.

Emma said: “I am incredibly proud of my Granddad, Ken Reynolds (an 85 year-old veteran from Hednesford), and all those who fought in the D-Day landings. We should never forget their bravery and their sacrifice and how they saved us from tyranny and fascism.”

“I am also very grateful to Eddie Izzard and Trevor Beattie for all the help that they have given the Normandy Veterans.  It was a poignant moment to watch my Granddad march with Eddie and Trevor towards the cenotaph on Whitehall on Sunday.”
