Emma has attended the launch of the 2018 World Watch List, organised by Open Doors, in Parliament on Wednesday, 10th January. The list details countries where freedom of religion is under threat and where people are persecuted for their faith.

Emma said; “I was very pleased to attend the launch of Open Doors’ World Watch List 2018 – it is essential that the Parliament of the United Kingdom stands up for the freedom of religion around the world.

“It was moving to hear from speakers at the event about the persecution that people face simply for practicing their religious beliefs in certain countries.

No one should be persecuted for their religious beliefs. The UK government must be proactive in standing up for human rights abroad, including the right for people to practice their religious beliefs.”
