Emma congratulates St Alban’s school on recent Ofsted inspection and on overcoming arson attack
Emma Reynolds, Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East and Shadow Housing Minister, has congratulated St Alban’s C of E Primary School in Wednesfield on its recent Ofsted inspection and the work it has done to overcome a recent arson attack. St Alban’s Primary School has now exited special measures due to higher quality teaching. The school suffered an arson attack in early February and reopened on 23 February.
Emma said “I visited St Alban’s school on 27 February with Cllr Rita Potter and Rev Sam Leach of St Alban’s Church, and was delighted to see a flourishing school where teaching standards are improving. The school’s achievements are a testament to the hard work of Helen Morris, the executive head teacher, and all the staff at St Alban’s. I would like to congratulate everyone at the school for achieving good leadership and behaviour rankings from their recent Ofsted inspection which took place only a few days before the fire.”
“I was also pleased to see how the local community pulled together to help the school after the fire. They have shown that the mindless vandalism of a few individuals will not hamper our efforts to provide local children with a good education. It was heartening to see how quickly the school has bounced back and reopened following this awful event.”
