Emma gets on board with the UNISON cuts bus

Emma on the cuts bus

Emma Reynolds MP (Wolverhampton North East) joined Unison in denouncing Tory-Lib Dem cuts to front-line public services.  Emma took part in Unison’s tour of Wolverhampton, on the Unison ‘cuts bus’, which the union is using to publicise the damaging level of cuts the Government is planning make to our public services.

Emma said:  “We all accept that savings need to be made but the Tories and Lib Dems are attacking front-line public services just when they are most needed.  It is wrong and unfair to cut frontline staff in our schools, hospitals and the Police.  Unison is right to speak out in defence of these services and the people who work in them.”

“There is a real danger that the speed and depth of the cuts that the Tory-Lib Dem Government are introducing will push the country back into recession as has recently happened in Ireland. They say that they need to reduce the deficit but in fact they are ideologically committed to reducing public spending and reducing the size of the state.”
