Emma visited Showell Court, a sheltered housing scheme for adults aged 55 and over providing them with care and support services from staff on site 24-hours a day. The home is run by Accord Housing Association and was built in 2010.The enhanced sheltered premises contain 44 one-bedroom apartments and 20 two-bedroom apartments with equipment to assist residents of all abilities.

Emma said, “I was very impressed during my visit to Showell Court. This is very important facility for residents in my constituency. The apartments are laid out so residents can still have their independence and also have the privacy they need.

“The communal facilities were very impressive such as the lounge, cafés and entertainment areas and I was pleased to see the canteen open for visitors as well as residents.

“The property on Othello Road, off Fourth Avenue, Low Hill runs a minibus service that is available to residents and other users to access the day centre services. It was a pleasure to meet the staff and residents.”
