Emma Reynolds attends Armed Forces Day event in Ashmore Park
Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East, Emma Reynolds attended an Armed Forces Day event organised by the Ashmore Inn and Wolverhampton branch of the Staffordshire Regimental Association in Ashmore Park yesterday.
It was the first time that such a big event had been organised in Ashmore Park and it was very well attended by local residents. There were stalls, a bouncy castle, a tom-bola and raffle and much more.
Emma said: “I want to thank Kevin and Donna, landlords of the Ashmore Inn and the Staffordshire Regimental Association for organising a fantastic event to mark Armed Forces Day.”
“I spoke at the event to thank all our brave men and women in the armed forces for their courage, sacrifice and service to our country. I talked about my 91 year old grandad who is a Second World War veteran. His generation fought for the democracy and freedom we enjoy today and saved us from fascism and tyranny.”
“I also spoke about our gratitude to those who have fought in recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. We must remember those who lost their lives. We must also support their families and those service personnel who have been seriously injured and psychologically scarred.”
