Emma Reynolds MP attends Macmillan Coffee Morning
Emma was pleased to attend a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Saturday 27 September at the Church of St Gregory the Great on Blackhalve Lane to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The day before, Friday 26 September, Emma’s constituency office also hosted a coffee morning, one of a number organised across Wolverhampton over the weekend. Unfortunately, Emma was unable to attend due to the recall of Parliament to debate military action in Iraq against ISIL.
Macmillan’s coffee mornings are its most successful fundraising events, with people across the country holding them to raise money for people living with cancer. In 2013, 154,000 people signed up, raising a record £20 million.
Emma said, “I organised a Macmillan coffee morning this year to help raise vital funds to help those who are suffering or recovering from cancer. Unfortunately, the recall of Parliament meant I was unable to attend the coffee morning I organised at my constituency office. I was very disappointed to miss it but I was delighted to be able to attend a Macmillan coffee morning the next day at the Church of St Gregory the Great on Blackhalve Lane. The event was a tremendous success and I want to pay tribute to Anne Brown for organising it.
“It was great to enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake, meet new people and, most importantly, to donate to Macmillan. Our donations mean that they can continue their great work. Macmillan makes sure that no one has to face cancer alone, from the moment they’re diagnosed, through treatment and beyond. Many thanks to everyone who attended a coffee morning this weekend and donated money to this worthy cause.”
