Emma attended the Vaisakhi celebrations in West Park in Wolverhampton on Sunday. Vaisakhi is one of the most important dates in the Sikh calendar. It celebrates the foundation of the Khalsa (the Order of the Pure Ones) by the tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh. Emma spoke at the event, alongside other politicians and community leaders.

Emma said: “I was delighted to take part in the Vaisakhi celebrations in West Park. The celebration of Vaisakhi has a long tradition in Wolverhampton. It is an annual event that brings together people of the Sikh faith, other faiths and none. There are stalls and musical performances, as well as speeches from local politicians and members of the community.

“It was also an opportunity to celebrate the tremendous contribution of Sikhs in Wolverhampton and across the country to their communities.”
