Emma Reynolds MP joined Norman Baker MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, and Geoff Inskip, Chief Executive of Centro to officially open the new £22.5m Wolverhampton bus station.
Emma Reynolds MP said, “I am extremely pleased with the huge investment in the new bus station and interchange. This station is now a world-class facility which is a show of confidence in the city and its future and is a key part in its ongoing regeneration.”
“However, local residents are disappointed that one in three buses do not call at the new bus station following the recent re-organisation of bus routes. For example, no buses running from Pendeford (where I live) call into the bus station at all, which makes access to the train station more difficult. There have also been some complaints about the changes to routes.”
“I have taken up these concerns with Centro and National Express today at the opening and on previous occasions. I am confident that these problems can be solved, I will keep up the pressure on behalf of my constituents so that changes will be made."
