Emma Reynolds, Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East, has encouraged people to mark Armed Forces Day (Saturday 24 June). Speaking before Armed Forces Day, Emma said: “On Saturday, people across the country will pause to acknowledge the incredible service and sacrifice made by the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who serve in some of the most dangerous areas of the world to defend Britain’s interests and national security with total commitment, professionalism and courage.

“Armed Forces Day is also a time to remember the individual bravery and collective determination of all our veterans.

“I am proud of Britain’s Armed Forces. It is right that we have a day that recognises our servicemen and women but the government must do more to support them and our veterans all year round. Including by ensuring that our Armed Forces are getting a good deal on pay, welfare, housing and services.”
