Emma Reynolds, MP for Wolverhampton North East and Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, has welcomed progress on the regeneration of part of Wolverhampton city centre, close to the station. The new building, known as Interchange 10, is positioned between the bus and railway stations and will house retail, offices and restaurants. The Hungry Horse pub chain has been announced as one of the first tenants. The £8.1 million building is part of a wider proposed £139 million scheme to redevelop the area around both stations. £10.6 million of this money has been provided by Wolverhampton City Council.

Emma said “I am delighted that this project to regenerate part of the city centre is progressing, and that tenants for the retail and restaurant premises are being announced. The building looks like a great addition to our city. I look forward to visiting the shops and restaurants when the building is completed.”

“This new development is key to my wider campaign to build a new railway station in Wolverhampton. A new station is essential for the future redevelopment of the city centre, and I will keep up pressure on the government so that we can secure the new station our city needs.”
