NEW Academy

Emma Reynolds MP spoke at the official opening of the North East Wolverhampton Academy on Wednesday 6 October 2010.

The Academy opened in September, in effect merging and replacing Pendeford Business and Enterprise College and Northicote High School. Thanks to the last Labour Government and the excellent work of the Council, funding for refurbishment and new buildings has been secured through the Building Schools for the Future programme and building is due to start soon.

Speaking of the opportunity that the new Academy will bring Emma said:    I am confident that our brand new Academy which will in a few years have brand new buildings is a change for the good.  A change which will provide opportunities for our young people to flourish, to fulfil their potential, to grow into the adults of tomorrow, making a contribution to our society, doing well, getting on, making their parents proud.”
