Emma Speaks Out in Support of Local Neighbourhood Partnerships

Emma in the Chamber

Emma Reynolds has criticised the government’s new Localism Bill and spoken out in support of Local Neighbourhood Partnerships in Wolverhampton.

After questioning the Minister for Communities in Parliament (here), Emma said, “The Tory-led government claims that their Localism Bill will empower local people to make choices about their communities but on top of forcing through massive cuts to public services they are also scrapping Local Neighbourhood Partnerships.

Wolverhampton’s fourteen Local Neighbourhood Partnerships bring together community groups, councillors, charities and services providers to enable local people to affect local government decision-making. The government is putting that vital feedback mechanism at risk. These plans haven’t been thought through and should be dropped”.
