Emma visits local Gurdwara in celebration of the temple’s 50 year anniversary
On Sunday, 29 January, Emma Reynolds, MP for Wolverhampton North East visited the Cannock Road Guru Nanak Sikh temple in her constituency to help them celebrate the temple’s 50th anniversary. Its roots in the city are well established as the temple was the first Gurdwara to be founded in Wolverhampton and has, for many years, provided a wide range of activities and services for the local community, including sporting, religious and social programmes that are highly valued.
Emma said: “It was fantastic to join the temple’s congregation and visitors to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the founding of the Gurdwara. I have visited the temple over many years and have always had a warm welcome. Prior to 1967, the building was a Coop store. It was a great pleasure to meet some of the former members of the committee who had helped build up the temple over the last few decades.”
