Emma visits local supermarket to discuss challenges facing the retail sector post Brexit
Emma Reynolds, Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East visited her local Asda supermarket at Heath Town for a tour of the store and to discuss with the company their thoughts and concerns on Brexit. Emma said: “Asda are a big employer in the UK, employing 160.000 staff nationally at 600 stores and 26 distribution centres across the country and 39 staff at their local store in Heath Town. I was pleased to visit the store and to meet with manager and staff.
The local store is well located in that part of the city and many local residents shop there. Given my membership of Parliament’s cross party Brexit Select Committee, we discussed many areas that were of concern to both Asda management and the wider retail sector about our exit from the EU. I will be championing those concerns to ensure we challenge and push the Government to get the best deal for jobs and future investment.”
