Wolverhampton Band Rocks the House of Commons

Silhouettes

A Wolverhampton band nominated by Emma Reynolds MP has made the shortlist for an exciting ‘battle of the bands’ held in the House of Commons on Thursday evening.

All MPs were asked to nominate promising unsigned bands to perform for the chance of stardom, and Emma Reynolds MP put forward Wolverhampton-based The Silhouettes – a four piece indie-electronica group. The band were selected from 59 entrants to join four other finalists performing in front of a judging panel of top music industry professionals on the terraces of the House of Commons. The prizes on offer include the chance to perform at Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club as well as a host of festivals this summer, and mentoring and support from music industry insiders.

Emma said, “I nominated The Silhouettes for the Rock the House competition because their music is fantastic. I am really proud that they reached the final round and am confident they will go on to great things in the future”.

Nathan Till (from Pendeford) from the Silhouettes said: "It was amazing to make the final five and visit Parliament. We put Wolverhampton on the map and were the only band from the West Midlands. The future of music is alive even in the House of Commons."
