Wolverhampton Summer Jobs Fair, 18 July 2012
Local Neighbourhood Partnerships in the North East of Wolverhampton are bringing together a Summer Jobs Fair. The project is supported by Job centre Plus, City of Wolverhampton College and Wolverhampton City Council and is also supported by North East MP Emma Reynolds who will be on hand during the day.
Emma said ““I am very pleased to be supporting the Summer Jobs Fair at Goodyear Pavilion on 18 July. It will bring together local employers and those looking for work. It is vital to help people get back to work.
“Employers value the chance to speak to potential employees face-to-face and often these events lead directly to employment as a result. There will also be advice on hand for people looking to start their own businesses as well as specialist advice for graduates.”
Carillion, Angel Springs and Marstons and Sevacare are among the many employers who will be attending the event.
Councillor Peter Bilson, Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration and Prosperity said, “Wolverhampton City Council is committed to reinvigorating the city and supporting people to get into jobs and training opportunities to improve their lives. I am looking forward to the Jobs Fair at Goodyear Pavilion which will bring together key employers in the city with local people. This is an opportunity for local people who have been outside of the jobs market to talk to employers about the jobs that are available and give them the opportunity to get back into the workforce. “
We expect around 30 employers with jobs and apprenticeship opportunities to be on hand to provide information about their employment opportunities. Access 2 Business and Princes Trust will be available to provide advice to people about setting up their own business and Wolverhampton College’s Graduate Internship Programme will offer support to any graduates.
