Emma congratulates City of Wolverhampton College on being ranked good by Ofsted in latest inspection
Emma Reynolds, Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East and Shadow Housing Minister, has congratulated City of Wolverhampton College and its principal, Mark Robertson, after the college was ranked good by Ofsted in its recent inspection. The inspection found that students at the college develop good personal, social and employability skills and benefit from good work experience opportunities which help prepare them well for employment.
Emma said “City of Wolverhampton College has made very encouraging and welcome progress in improving education for students over the past year.
I want to congratulate Mark Robertson and his team for all their hard work and for turning the college around after what was a very difficult period. As a former pupil, I am delighted with the transformation.”
“In particular, it is excellent news that the college’s apprenticeships are highly valued by employers and give apprentices the preparation they need for the world of work. Since I was first elected in 2010, I have worked closely with the college and had the opportunity to see at first hand its close engagement with local employers of all sizes and types.
This includes Jaguar Land Rover, Moog, Aldi and the BBC.
“Ofsted also found that the college has strong leadership and management which is crucial to raising standards.”
