Emma Reynolds, Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East and Shadow Housing Minister, was grilled by Wolverhampton students during their recent visit to Parliament.Aldersley High School students had a tour of the Houses of Parliament and a meeting with Emma, their MP. The visit formed part of their A level studies. The Sixth Formers asked Emma questions about what her job involves as an MP, and how she represents them in Parliament.

Emma said “Meeting with young constituents is one of my favourite parts about being an MP. It is so important that young people get an experience of what politics entails and how the government’s decisions and laws voted on in Parliament affect them. This is why I am always delighted to meet with school groups either in my constituency or in Parliament.”

“I explained to the students about what my role as their MP involves and that I spend 3 to 4 days in Parliament representing them and their families in the House of Commons. Then from Thursday onwards I am in Wolverhampton meeting constituents and visiting local businesses, charities, community groups and schools. I also hold regular constituency advice surgeries and coffee mornings.”

“I hope the students enjoyed their day at Parliament, and wish them all the best of luck in their A level exams.”
