Emma on new Heath Town council homes
Emma, whose Wolverhampton North East constituency covers Heath Town, responded to the news that Wolverhampton Council is to build and refurbish homes in Heath town and said:
“I welcome the news that the City of Wolverhampton Council are going to build new council homes in Heath Town. There are thousands of people in Wolverhampton on the waiting list for a council home so these new homes are desperately needed.
“I also want to commend the Council for focusing on the regeneration of Heath Town. The new housing and work on the communal areas will make a big difference to people’s lives and their environment.
“The Council is right to recognise that regeneration isn’t just about housing – it’s about sustaining and building the Heath Town community. The work at Ling House to create more space for the Hope Family Centre is a clear example of this.
“The development plans for Heath Town include flats, houses and bungalows, so the Council is catering for a wide range of needs.”
