Emma questions Home Secretary over the treatment of the Windrush generation
Emma Reynolds, Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East has criticised the government over the treatment of The Windrush Generation by the Home Office. Emma said, ” The Windrush generation have been treated in an appalling and inhumane way by the Home Office.
“Yesterday I raised the case of my constituent Paulette Wilson directly with the Home Secretary, Paulette has lived and worked in the UK for fifty years, paid her taxes and yet was threatened with deportation to Jamaica.
“The Home Secretary is right to apologise for the serious mistakes her Department has made. But she now needs to answer how this was allowed to happen in the first place and how many people have been wrongly detained or deported.”
