Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Wolverhampton North East and Shadow Housing Minister, Emma Reynolds, has congratulated Fallings Park Primary School on achieving their 6th Eco Flag award. The award ceremony and flag raising coincided with celebrations at the school for St George’s Day.

Emma, who is seeking re-election as a Member of Parliament, said “I was delighted to attend this award ceremony. I particularly want to thank all the children at the school for their work in gaining the award. Fallings Park Primary School is the only school in Wolverhampton to have achieved six Eco Flag awards. This award is given to schools which have implemented an action plan involving pupils and parents in environmentally friendly projects, such as picking up litter and turning off lights. I would like to congratulate the head teacher, Jon Hopkins, and chair of governors, Sally Thompson, and everyone at the school for this achievement and wish them luck as they now aim to gain the Ambassador Role. This will involve Fallings Park working with other schools in the area to improve their environmental awareness.”

“Since it was St George’s Day the children also put on a special assembly to celebrate the event. They re-enacted the famous fable of St George killing the dragon. It was lovely to see the children having such an enjoyable time while taking part in festivities for the national day.”
