Emma Reynolds MP backed by her local party to be Labour candidate at general election
The Labour Party of Wolverhampton North East has unanimously backed the sitting MP, Emma Reynolds, Labour’s Shadow Housing Minister, to be their candidate at the next general election.Emma Reynolds said: “I am delighted to have the full and unanimous backing of my local Labour Party. It is a real vote of confidence in my time as a Member of Parliament. It is an absolute honour and privilege to represent my home town in Parliament. I look forward to continuing to fight Wolverhampton’s corner.”
“Regenerating the city centre and securing a new train station are two of my priorities for Wolverhampton. Improving education, especially primary school education, is also a top priority. I came into politics because I believe that every child deserves an equal opportunity to fulfil their potential regardless of their background. I attended local state schools and lived for the early part of my childhood in a council flat. It is that personal experience which has shaped my approach to politics.”
“Should Labour win the general election in 2015, I hope to be the Housing Minister in a Labour government. So many young people and families are being priced out of home ownership. Doubling house building and driving up standards in private sector houses and flats are my priorities.”
