Emma Reynolds MP blames Government for fall in NHS satisfaction
Wolverhampton North East MP, Emma Reynolds, has today said the Government is to blame for falling levels of public satisfaction with the NHS.
Figures released from the British Social Attitudes survey show that public satisfaction with the NHS fell from 70% in 2010 to 58% in 2012, the biggest year on year fall since the survey began.
In response, Emma said:
“There can be little doubt that the fall in public satisfaction is as a result of the Government’s mismanagement of the NHS.
“NHS staff do a fantastic job and provide an overwhelmingly high level of care to patients. Under Labour, public satisfaction in the NHS had risen to an all time high of 70%. After one year of a Tory-led Government, this figure dropped by 12%.
“Instead of helping the NHS to focus on continuing to improve patient care, the Government has wasted two years talking down the NHS to justify their wildly unpopular changes to the service.”
