Emma Reynolds MP welcomes Wolverhampton Aerospace Apprentices to the House of Commons
Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East, Emma Reynolds, on Tuesday welcomed two aerospace apprentices, Andrew Deakin and Christopher Emery, from UTC Aerospace Systems Marstons Aerospace Ltd, to the House of Commons to celebrate apprenticeships in the UK Aerospace industry.
The event, which follows the launch of the joint industry and Government strategy for the future of UK aerospace through the Aerospace Growth Partnership (AGP), celebrated the valuable contribution of apprentices operating in this important sector, and highlighted the advanced technological developments they are working to develop.
Emma is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Aerospace.
Speaking after the reception, Emma Reynolds said:
“Aerospace is a hugely important industry to both Wolverhampton and the UK and I am delighted that the industry is building for its future by taking on so many highly talented and skilled apprentices.
At a time when it is particularly difficult for young people to find a job, aerospace is one industry which is still taking people on nationally and continues to recruit in Wolverhampton.
I was delighted to meet Andrew and Chris and fascinated to hear about the apprenticeships they are undertaking and their exciting plans for the future.”
