Emma Reynolds MP welcomes £300,000 investment in sports facilities at Our Lady & St Chad School and Sports College
Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East, Emma Reynolds, has today welcomed news that Our Lady & St Chad School and Sports College is to receive over £300,000 to improve sports facilities and build a full size artificial pitch with floodlights.The project will be funded from the £10m National Lottery Improvement Fund which seeks to give greater sporting opportunities to communities across the country.
Speaking after the announcement, Emma Reynolds said:
“I am delighted that Our Lady & St Chad Sports College has been awarded this funding by the National Lottery Improvement Fund. The school has an excellent proven track record in engaging their pupils in sport, whatever their ability and level, and also uses sport to raise aspiration.”
“This investment will further improve what the school will be able to offer to both pupils and the wider community.”
“Following the fantastic success of the 2012 Olympic Games, it is vital that the sporting legacy of the Games is nurtured and encouraged. In my view, improving local community sports facilities is vital to this and I look forward to seeing the new facilities when the project has been completed.”
