The Choose Charity Shops campaign is the first national campaign calling on extra donations to charity shops. Organised by the Charity Retail Association the campaign runs from 14 – 19 May.

Emma paid a visit to The Extra Care Charitable Trust shop, in Wednesfield High Street, which is one of the many charity shops in Wolverhampton struggling with falling donations.

Emma said “Local charity shops serve many purposes within our communities. They provide high quality low cost goods to those who need them. These shops also provide people with an outlet to recycle the things they no longer need. This campaign also highlights the fact that charity shops are employers of 17,000 people nationwide

“I would urge people to have a good de-clutter at home and bring along anything they no longer want. ExtraCare in Wednesfield will take anything, even damaged books and clothing as they can raise funds with those too.”
