Emma visits news building projects at two local secondary schools
Emma has visited new building projects at two local secondary schools. Emma inspected the progress at the new construction UTC
at the old Springfield Brewery site. She also visited the new school buildings at Heath Park School with executive headteacher Georgetta Holloway OBE and a group of sixth formers.
Emma said βI was delighted to see the progress being made building the new University Technical College on the old Springfield Brewery site. This new college has already started admitting pupils from its temporary premises at the old Northicote School. When finished this new college will be an excellent addition to the school choices in Wolverhampton, providing practical training alongside academic subjects. I look forward to visiting again when it is completed.β
βIn addition, the new rebuilt Heath Park School is another excellent school in our city. I had the pleasure of looking round the new buildings, and meeting a group of sixth formers involved in the Young Enterprise award scheme. This scheme allows students to set up a business, and teaches them much about the realities of commerce. I am supporting them in their new project and hope that they go on to win the competition.β
