Emma is a a member of the cross-party House of Commons Brexit Select Committee. The Committee visited Wolverhampton on 19 January to discuss preparations for leaving the EU with Wolverhampton Council, Wolverhampton University, businesses and trade unions. It was an opportunity for the committee to hear directly from big Wolverhampton employers like UTC Aerospace Systems about what they need from the government to make a success of Brexit. In particular, UTC benefits from a number of cross-border supply chains so it is vital that there continues to be tariff free trade with Europe. I will be calling on the government to ensure that jobs, growth and people’s living standards are not adversely affected.
