‘Get ready for work event’ held at Low Hill Community Centre
Low Hill and the Scotland’s Local Neighbourhood Partnership arranged a Jobs, Enterprise Skills and Welfare event at Low Hill Community Centre on Thursday 23 May.Emma was invited along to meet with the businesses, agencies and participants seeking advice.
The event was organised to help local people get the skills and knowledge that they need to get into work, training or even to help them set up their own business.
There were more than 20 organisations at the event to help people find the right training, help with CV writing, help with volunteering opportunities and employers who had some unfilled vacancies.
Also on offer, was information about Wolverhampton Homes LEAP work placements and their money smart team was on hand to give advice about money management.
Emma Reynolds MP said, “I was very pleased to be able to support the LNP’s ‘Get ready for work event’ at Low Hill Community Centre. It is vital to help people get back to work.”
“Employers value the chance to speak to potential employees face-to-face and often these events lead directly to employment as a result. There was also advice on hand for people looking to start their own businesses as well as specialist advice for graduates.”
