Emma attends UTC Aerospace Systems fun day in aid of big Poppy Appeal
New Poppy Organisers for Codsall, David and Julie Johnson were introduced to MPs Emma Reynolds and Rob Marris and the Mayor of Wolverhampton Barry Findlay at the UTC Aerospace Systems, Actuation Systems, Employee Family Fun Day at their Stafford Road site on Saturday 10th September 2016. UTAS who have been very supportive of the Poppy Appeal for many years are committed to increasing their fundraising activities for the Poppy Appeal, starting with a fundraising stall at this years open day.
Emma Reynolds added “I am a passionate supporter of the Legion and the Poppy Appeal. My grandad fought for our country in the Second World War and is a D-Day veteran. The bravery of his generation in fighting to free Europe from Nazi domination should never be forgotten.
“The work of the British Legion is vitally important in recognising the dedication and sacrifices of our Armed Services and in supporting our veterans. I want to pay tribute to UTC in Wolverhampton, and everyone who works there, for the excellent work they have done in fundraising for the Poppy Appeal.”
The Legion’s role remains as contemporary and as vital as it has ever been supporting today’s generation of Armed Forces families and veterans, whether living with an injury or illness, coping with bereavement or finding employment.
The money raised through the Poppy Appeal goes directly to The Royal British Legion’s work providing through life support to anyone who is currently serving in the British Armed Forces, who has previously served, and their families.
Fundraising is crucial to ensuring we can provide the services and support needed by the Armed Forces Community, if you can help us in any way please get in touch with Alison Bates, Community Fundraiser on 01889 575496 or email [email protected] and like our Midlands Poppy Facebook page where many of our events are posted.
