Emma Reynolds, Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East, has praised a group of Wolverhampton volunteers who have given up their own free time to help the city’s homeless people. The group, ‘Help Wolverhampton homeless people’, go out in Wolverhampton Town Centre every Wednesday evening from 530pm till 8pm. The aim of the group is to give out food, drinks, clothes, blankets and toiletries to homeless people sleeping rough in the city.

Emma said “Over the Christmas period most of us will be enjoying spending time at home with our families and friends. It’s very sad that some people at Christmas will not be with loved ones but will be sleeping rough, often in dangerous conditions.

“Groups like ‘Help Wolverhampton homeless people’ can make a real difference in helping the homeless. The group is made up entirely of volunteers who give up their own time for free. I want to pay tribute to the work they do to help those sleeping rough.

“The volunteers tell me that they are always in need of more donations to support their work, particularly during the cold winter period. Anyone who wants to help can donate food, drinks and unwanted winter clothing such as gloves, hats and coats. New volunteers are also welcome to join the group on Wednesday evenings. If you are interested in donating or volunteering, you can message the group on Facebook by visiting their page, ‘Help Wolverhampton homeless people.’”
