Emma marks Remembrance Sunday by attending service in Wednesfield
Emma Reynolds MP attended the Remembrance Service on Remembrance Sunday at St Thomas’ Church in Wednesfield, which this year marked 100 years since the start of the First World War.The service commemorated the sacrifice of all of those who have fallen in conflict fighting for our country.
“This year marks the 100 anniversary of the start of the First World War and therefore today’s service has special significance and poignancy in commemorating the bravery and sacrifices of our armed forces during the First World War.
“The service also gave thanks to British soldiers who served in other conflicts around the world, including in Afghanistan today.
“On behalf of everyone who attended, I would like to thank St Thomas’ Church and the Royal British Legion in Wednesfield. The annual Remembrance Service could not take place without their dedication and commitment to marking Remembrance Sunday.
“I was pleased to see so many young people join their parents and grandparents to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. Even though 100 years have passed since the first guns started firing, people in Wednesfield and across Wolverhampton will never forget the sacrifice of all those who served in the First World War and in armed conflicts since then.”
