Welcome to my website. On 6 May 2010, I was elected as the new MP for Wolverhampton North East. It is a great honour to represent my home town in Parliament. I would like to thank everybody who supported me.

    Emma visits City CollegeEmma visited Wolverhampton City College this week to see what students who enrol this September can expect from the high-performing College. Meeting with Principal Ian Millard, Emma discussed the challenges faced by the Further Education sector and how Wolverhampton would meet them.     Emma congratulates Wolverhampton BSF on schools successEmma met with Tim Westwood and Gerard Stone from Wolverhampton Building Schools for the Future this week to congratulate them on successfully securing the funding to build or redevelop 26 schools across Wolverhampton including every Secondary School in Wolverhampton North East. After Tuesday’s Budget, education spending could be slashed by 25%. The Regional Development Agency – recently judged the best in the country – was created by the Labour Government in order to bring in investment and help businesses create jobs across the region.     Emma urges the Government not to grant anonymity to rape defendantsEmma Reynolds MP urged the Government to drop its plan to grant anonymity for defendants in rape cases. Emma raised the issue with the Tory Justice Secretary Ken Clarke in the House, citing the case of black cab driver, John Worboys. When he was charged for sex attacks, more than 80 other women came forward as victims. Emma said ‘Granting anonymity to defendants in rape cases would risk violent criminals escaping justice. The John Worboys case shows that when an attacker is accused in public other victims come forward who may otherwise stay silent and this strengthened the case...
