Speech to Town and Country Planning Association by Emma Reynolds MP – Shadow Housing Minister
Please find attached the text of a speech I delivered recently at the Town and Country Planning Association’s annual conference in London.
My speech was entitled “Building stronger communities”. It focused on how a Labour government will aim to deliver 200,000 homes a year by 2020, including by building a new generation of new towns and garden cities.
This should be seen against the current government’s failure to ensure enough homes are being built. Currently, we are building less than half the number of homes we need to meet demand.
